Iterative Improvements

Top posts from this week

Hey friends. It is finally HOT here in Madrid, and I'm running a little slower than usual due to a weekend of celebrating hubs's bithday, and this weekend of going to a festival as part of his birthday gift. I'm more of a "cabin in the woods" person, rather than stark daylight and pounding base, person.

Apps for ADHD Productivity

The productivity blocks for people with ADHD have nothing to do with needing better lists or project management tools. These apps get it.

I round up apps that actually tackle ADHD or nuerodivrergent productivity issues. If you know anyone who complains of distractibility, send this to them.

πŸ§ͺ️ πŸ’š Things I'm testing

Things I'm testing over the last two weeks

  • Lemon8. Damn, it's so aesthetic here. Too aesthetic. I would need to level up my photography to post here. I feel it functions the way flipboard and bloglovin used to: Many people use it to write out blog posts and have the algorithm display the posts in an eye catching, visually oriented way. In other words: it's a visual discovery tool for longer form text content compared to insta, where no one reads the post captions.
  • Sunsama - it’s not a task manager or project manager. It’s a tool for mindfully working on your priorities without overwork that works with all the existing teamwork or project management tools. I’m vibing with it a lot.
  • InoReader - it’s an RSS reader that lets you discover content by keywords across the web, reddit subs, telegram groups, and facebook.
  • I’m also giving Tick Tick a go since everyone is talking about it. It's ok, but I don't think I'll switch from Todoist, tbh.
  • Not an app, but I paid for WP Rocket Plugin and their CDN to speed up my wordpress site, but LiteSpeed cache and their quic.cloud CDN works so much better for free. They’re really helpful on their Discord server, too. I got a refund from WP rocket, so that's handy.

This weeks Reads

Best reads from last week

But then again, I'm using Pocketcasts to manage my podcasts queue and Apple Music. It's not about digital snooping, I'm used to that by now.

But I do care about my mental sovereignty and freedom of thought. And I can't pretend those exist when my text messages on whatsapp, and browsing on insta are used to feed me podcast content and playlists that affect my mood and opinions.

🧞Next week

Does bionic reading work? I see fonts for dyslexia and bionic reading doing the rounds on social media as brain-hacks, but I'm not finding scientific evidence that supports the claims. So why do users think it helps? And what UX patterns do help.

Anything you want me to talk about?

Iterative Improvements - Better digital products

By Moodthy Alghorairi

Design alone isn't what makes a great product. A mix of UX, product design, behaviour design, marketing, and online strategy; digital product and app design reviews; leadership in design; and running a calm creative business.

iterative improvements Making better digital products Hey friends I know it's been a while since I've sent a newsletter and maybe your inbox is full. If you're not feeling the vibe, scroll down to unsub. If you're still here, I'm sharing something I didn't want to post on my blog just in case it came off like I was exposing them by discussing their marketing strategy and how they appeal to their audience and how their audience identity is their USP. There's a much cheaper, almost identical...
